A Rochester landmark since 1975, The Frog Pond has had only three owners over three decades! Originally a Park Avenue barber shop, The Frog Pond first served food in 1975 under the ownership of Charlie Carrado, hence it’s original name: Charlie’s Frog Pond. An old hang-out of famous Rochester artist and friend of Charlie, Ramon Santiago, Charlie’s Frog Pond was a Rochester institution from the start drawing locals and visitors to its Park Avenue location! By the time of its second ownership change in the 90’s, Charlie’s Frog Pond had became a hometown favorite for its vibrant interior (and frog wallpaper), breakfast classics and daily blackboard dinner specials, making the pint-size bistro a one-of-a-kind Park Avenue stand-out.
In late 2010, a new chapter of The Frog Pond’s legacy began with new ownership and re-modernized name, simply “The Frog Pond.” During its renovation, a memory wall paying homage to The Frog Pond’s rich history and 30+ year legacy was also incorporated in the rear of the restaurant.
Among its many accolades, The Frog Pond is annually ranked by City Newspaper’s BEST OF ROCHESTER and Urbanspoon for BEST BRUNCH, BEST BURGER, BEST AMERICAN and BEST OF PARK AVENUE! Our classic breakfast features rank The Frog Pond as the #1 BEST Brunch in Town (Urbanspoon 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015) and in March of 2013, The Frog Pond was also published in a NY Times article titled “48 Hours in Rochester, NY” for our fabulous brunch.
Each day our dynamic team strives to provide our classic selections with exceptional service and unique Frog Pond experience.
